The name of the show O, which is pronounced the same way you would say eau in French, is inspired by the word’s translation for water in the same language. This is because the show takes place inside, above, and around a giant water pool with close to six million liters of water.

The water-themed show is a surreal production whose highlights include diving, synchronized swimming, aerial acrobatics, and a myriad of ground performances. The cast of 85 performers put up a splendid show, so much so that it feels as if audience members are transported to an alternate universe.

The specially designed theater adds to the show’s spectacular setting. Fun facts about the theater include the fact that the water in the pool is maintained at 31 degrees Celsius, and even features a state-of-the-art underwater sound system and regulators that enable the cast to breathe during their sizzling acts.

Many visitors are fascinated to learn that performers have multiple sets of identical show costumes. This allows the performers to remain dry even after several submerged stunts, retaining a fresh look throughout the 90-minute show. What’s more, the audience seating area is located well outside the splash zone, so visitors need not fret about getting drenched.

O by Cirque du Soleil is a family-friendly show that is open for everyone five years and older. The show runs at 7pm and 9:30pm every night of the week. Visitors are advised that photography, audio-recording, and videography is prohibited during the show.
