MacDonald uses the performers, who range from dancers to acrobats to body contortionists, to capture the core of their movements. Looking at The Art of Richard MacDonald, it is simply amazing to understand how MacDonald creates such rich expressions.
The art installation features more than 50 sculptures made of bronze and displayed at the ‘O’ Theatre. It is fascinating to learn that some of the sculptures took as much as eight years to complete. A closer glance at the sculptures reveals why this is so.
If you look closely, you’ll notice that most of MacDonald’s works are set at unique angles that will have you tilting your head to appreciate the full scale of the art. This thought-provoking installation not only captures the timeless beauty of the human form, but it is also a permanent display of characters in their element in the theatre of life.
