As one of the most popular activities within the park, hiking on the 8-mile long Ashgrove trail makes for a memorable adventure. The hike takes you across some of the unique natural formations, including meadows and a dry wash. If you are lucky, you may spot some wild animals. Overlook Trail is also worth checking out for anyone who loves the thrill of the outdoors.
Exploring Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is a richly rewarding experience, with one of its spectacular attractions being the placid Lake Harriet. This lake is home to a number of duck species and the Pahrump pool fish, which is an endangered species that has been preserved within the park. It is easy to get lost in the aura of this park as you marvel at some of its most pristine gems.
This pet-friendly park allows visitors to explore with their dogs, but they have to be on a leash. While you’re at it, take time to visit the different historical sites that dot the park. These include the chinchilla shed, a charming sandstone cabin, Wilson cemetery, as well as the main ranch house. There is also a hay and horse barn.
Guided historical tours are available at select times throughout the week and are an opportunity to visit the bunkhouse and see the old cabin. There is also the option of taking a self-guided tour to the blacksmith’s shop.
