West of the Las Vegas Strip

Spending time west of the Las Vegas Strip is one of the most incredible ways to take in the whole experience of the vibrant entertainment capital.

This part of the Strip has something for just about everyone – ranging from restaurants to nightclubs, casinos, pools, museums, and shows.

Start at Chinatown, one of the area’s most unexpected surprises. Just as the name suggests, this is an expansive district whose Asian flair makes it hard to ignore. Chinatown Plaza is easily identified by its vibrantly colored gates, complete with dragon statues. This is a favorite spot for visitors, and it is not uncommon to see them trying to get a photo outside.

Away from the plaza, Chinatown also promises some great food. Popular restaurants such as Ranch 99, Sam Woo, and Harbor Palace Seafood offer an unforgettable culinary experience. For a hot peppery meal, Chengdu Taste is a must-sample. The restaurant specializes in Sichuan-style meals, with special treats such as pork dumplings in broth.

Mountain View Plaza is also worth checking out west of the Las Vegas Strip. In sharp contrast with Chinatown, the plaza has a contemporary feel to it while maintaining its rich Vietnamese roots. Some of the restaurants include Chubby Cattle, which serves hot meals with a touch of Mongolian touch, Raku for Japanese cuisine, as well as Yui Edomae Sushi.

Once you have had your fill, head over to the Nevada State Museum. Perfect for history buffs, the museum is the perfect place to catch up with the area’s history and look out for fossils obtained from across Nevada. Admission to the museum includes complimentary entry to the Springs Reserve for adults.

Gaming lovers will enjoy the plush Palms Casino. With its eclectic design and fresh blend of entertainment options, the casino brings pulsating energy to the area. Within the Palms, visitors can also indulge in a juicy steak at the N9NE steakhouse.

Other popular attractions west of the Las Vegas Strip include the Penn & Teller Show, the VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub, as well as Frankie’s Tiki Room.
