East Las Vegas

Whitney, previously known as East Las Vegas, is an unincorporated town tucked away in Clark County of Nevada.

The town’s history goes back to the early 20th century when Stowell Whitney bought a large ranch in the region.

The town was then established in 1931 following the ranch’s subdivision and the opening of the first post office a year later. The town’s name was later changed to East Las Vegas after the town’s residents signed a petition for the name change. In 1993 however, the town’s original name was reinstated.

The town’s growth and development at the turn of the 21st century offered an opportunity for investors in the town’s numerous housing developments. Today, the town continues to attract visitors keen on exploring its many attractions.

One of Whitney’s most iconic landmarks is the Sam Boyd Stadium, which was previously known as the Silver Bowl. The stadium is home to the UNLV Rebels football team and is a key venue for sports tournaments. Visitors looking for the ultimate sporting experience can enjoy VIP suites alongside an incredible catering menu for an unforgettable game.

For holidaymakers in Whitney, the town offers diverse accommodation options to cater for everyone – from budget rooms to luxury suites in five-star hotels. The Eastside Cannery Casino and Hotel is one of the best options in the town – its rooms are not only spacious and cozy, but it also offers magnificent views of the Las Vegas Valley.

Arizona Charlie’s Boulder Casino and hotel is also worth checking out. It is ideal for gaming lovers looking for an off-strip casino. This hotel is also pretty close to the street, making it both convenient and accessible. Alternatively, stop by at the Sunset Station Hotel and Casino that promises value for money with its great customer care service and affordable rates.

Other nearby hotels worth checking out for in Whitney include the Longhorn Casino and Hotel, Holiday Inn Express Hotel, as well as the Comfort Inn and Suites. The Las Vegas Strip is pretty close to the town, so visitors enjoy everything the Strip has to offer before retreating to East Las Vegas afterwards.
